Red ♥s white & blue

Something about national sporting events always puts me in the mood for fashion.  Actually, I won’t pretend to not know why.  It’s because I have just as much fun picking out an appropriate outfit as I do watching the game.  I do really love sports as a matter of fact, especially soccer.  Coincidentally I do really love patriot attire, too.  Face painting and flag capes get a pass for the World Cup of Soccer and the 4th of July, but if you are not at the bar or the beach a more subtle approach can do just the trick.

Unfortunately, I spent the day at work for the majority of the USA World Cup matches, but was lucky enough to enjoy at least one viewing at the local pub on a beatiful Sunday.  I chose to sport a simple white tee with studded shoulder detail and distressed boyfriend shorts.  The look is tied together with a patriotic flair including starry pointed flats and a blue bangle and completed with a fun red lip.

Sadly, the USA was knocked out of the tournament by Belgium this aftternoon, and my second favorite nation, England, was elimated a while back so I am not sure who to cheer on now.  Should I go based off best jerseys or cutest starting mid-fielder? 😉 Who are you rooting for to win the title of World Champion?

Nevertheless, remember you have one more chance to dress excessively patriotic before those American flag sunglasses should really be stored away for the summer… July 4 here we come!  #USAUSAUSA
